organic spray tan

Spray tanning is the healthy alternative to UV tanning. With this treatment, you can get a golden healthy tan on without the risk of skin cancer. Spray tanning is the application of tanning solution evenly to the body with an air compressor or a high tech spray gun to give the skin a different, usually darker color by a professional tanning artist.

An organic formula or solution is used and evenly sprayed on the body to give it a beautiful natural bronzed tan appearance.

The tanning solution can be tailored to suit anyone’s skin tone, type and skin preference and is much less likely to cause an allergic reaction for sensitive skin types.

The organic tanning solution contains valuable anti-aging properties and rich in amino acids and vitamins. To protect your skin out there in the world, the solution also contains aloe vera, vitamin C and walnut extract.

How long does a professional spray tan last?

Finding out how long a spray tan will last is dependent on a couple of different factors.

In general, your spray tan will last around a week (5 to 10 days) but it will start to gradually fade before this time. This is because the skin will naturally continue to regenerate itself and old skin cells will be sloughed away to reveal paler skin beneath.

How to get and maintain a spray tan like a pro?

  • The day before the tanning session, give yourself a shower with a sea-salt or sugar scrub and an exfoliating mitt. Coarse salt or sugar mixed with a body wash works well because most commercial scrubs contain oil, and oil prevents the tanning solution from latching onto your skin cells.

  • On spray-tan day, don’t use lotions, oils, perfumes, or deodorant. Deodorants can make the tan turn green.

  • After the spray session, load on baby powder anywhere you might sweat. Take a fat body brush and coat yourself with powder on the underarms, under boobs, under butt, inner thighs, inner knees, and feet.

  • Wear loose clothes. Skip the bra and anything that’s tight enough to leave a mark on your skin, because that can also remove the spray tan.I have seen clients with inseam stripes down their legs from tight pants. Even crossing your legs can create a white spot, so stick with baggy pants.

  • The longer the spray tan sets, the longer it will last. Leave the spray tan on for a minimum of six hours, but eight is better, and ten is better than that. When it’s time to shower, use a pH-balanced body wash.

  • Do not apply oils, fragrance, exfoliators, anti-aging lotions (AHAs, BHAs, salicylic acid, and retinoids). If you must shave, don’t press hard on the skin.

  • If you notice the tan fading in certain areas — usually the feet, underarms, hands, and face — apply a gradual self-tanner around day three or four.

  • Avoid hot tubs and swimming pools.
